I have a confession to make. My name is Cassie and I’m a serial blog creator and abandoner.
I love to blog and I have tried to do the traditional “Mommy Blog.” You know the ones with the recipes, cleaning tips, and kids activities. I succeed for a while and then…FLARE UP!
I suffer from a chronic pain disease called Interstitial Cystitis (IC). I have suffered from this my entire life, but was officially diagnosed at the age of 15. After my first child, I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which my doctor says is a result from battling a chronic pain disease for so long.
So I start my mommy blogs and after weeks of not posting, instead of trying to explain my absence, I just delete the blog. It’s silly, I know, but when I see all the moms with their immaculate homes, big home cooked feasts, and photos of them running around with their kids I get bummed out. If you have never suffered from a chronic pain disease, you just don’t understand the toll it takes on your energy levels. I just feel that “normal” moms will label me as weak and lazy.
So that’s where this blog comes in. Now that you know a little about me, I won’t feel like I have to explain what happened if I go MIA for a while.
This is a true Chronic Pain Disease Mom Blog. I will be posting about living with IC and Fibro, finding energy to raise two kids, and about running my own business at home.
So, my home will look amazing one day and then one week later, it will look like a tornado went thru it. Sometimes I’m too tired to cook meals and my kids will have to settle for sandwiches. And, I cannot even think about playing outside for long periods of time right now. I will be candid. I’m ready to be me.
Give a shout out below if you are also “too tired to mom.” Let me know what kind of topics you want me to talk about in the future. You can also send me questions on my contact page.
I love how honest this post is. I’m 23 and I’m a single mum to a very chaotic 2.5 year old. I’ve been diagnosed with IC and I have possible fowlers, fibro and CFS too so I totally hear what you’re saying!! I look forward to reading the rest of your posts! Big hugs!
Thank you so much! I hope I can give some advice and inspiration for living in IC in my future posts. Big hugs to you too!
